Boulder Creek Festival returns on Memorial Day weekend to kick off summer

Crowd

Boulderrecently issued the following announcement.

Boulder Creek Festival is returning to downtown Boulder over Memorial Day weekend, May 28-30, 2022.

For the first time, the weekend will kick off with a free show (headliner to be announced in coming weeks) at the Glen Huntington Bandshell on Friday, May 27, followed by three days of music, craft beer, artisans, family-friendly activities and more to celebrate the Boulder community.

“Boulder Creek Festival has greatly evolved since its inception more than 30 years ago,” said Boulder Creek Festival Event Director Ryan Slater. “We’ve worked hard on curating an inclusive experience catered to the music fan, the craft beer enthusiast, the art lover, the foodie, the Boulder County families and beyond. While longtime visitors are going to be pleasantly surprised by these elevated experiences, the family-friendly charm of the festival will be ever present.”

Celebrating its 33rd year, Boulder Creek Festival, will include:

  • Creekside Beer Fest: Imbibe with more than 15 Colorado breweries including Avery Brewing Company, Upslope Brewing Company and Four Noses Brewing Company on May 28-29. The full brewery list will be announced at a later time with tickets going on sale in April.
  • Live music: More than 30 musical artists, from rock to reggae, will be playing throughout the weekend.
  • Makers Market: From pottery to sculptures to photography to jewelry, the Boulder Creek Festival Marketplace is a diverse selection of local vendors, artisans, fine art vendors, nonprofits, wellness partners and more.
  • Creekside for Kids: With uniquely kid-friendly activities such as an obstacle course, rock wall, trampolines, yoga, family disco and more throughout the weekend, little ones aren’t going to want to leave Boulder Creek Festival.
  • Local eats: Over 30 tasty food trucks and vendors are expected to be in attendance serving up international cuisine, American eats, healthy options and sweet treats.
“Last year, due to the pandemic, we had to host the festival in July, but we’re excited to have it back this year on its traditional Memorial weekend,” said City of Boulder Events Manager Justin Greenstein. “We think Boulder residents and visitors from across the region will be thrilled that it’s back as the official ‘welcome to summer’ festival.”

The Boulder Creek Festival takes place along Boulder Creek from 9th Street to 14th Street between Canyon Boulevard and Arapahoe Avenue.

Artist, volunteer, sponsor and vendor opportunities are still available through the website.
