Cost of college went up for all students at Central Wyoming College

In-state tuition and fees rose 3.2 percent for 2018-19 at Central Wyoming College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Wyoming residents paid $3,120 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $96 more than the $3,024 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 144.6 percent more than residents this year, or $7,632. Their price tag grew 1.3 percent from $7,536 in 2017-18.

About 78 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Wyoming residents. About 19 percent are residents of other states and 3 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 96 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 175 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.1 million and 34 students took out student loans totaling more than $133,483.

Including all undergraduates (1,974), 906 students used grants or scholarships totaling $5.2 million, and 229 students took out $1.1 million in federal student loans.
