Kansas City, MO (May 17, 2021)—Park County School District No. 1 announced today that it is registering to use CybrSchool, a web-based learning platform that combines video-based lessons with cutting-edge technology for use in and outside of classrooms. The system, developed by the Missouri-based Acellus company, has been shown to accelerate learning, elevate standardized test scores, reduce dropout rates and transition more students into careers and college.

“We wanted to provide a viable option to our students, as well as those in neighboring counties. We believe the Acellus program will provide a solid asynchronous model and course offerings for our virtual students who can access high levels of learning while working toward their high school diploma,” stated Jason Sleep, Assistant Superintendent for Park County School District #1. “We are excited to provide this opportunity for students who might benefit from a virtual delivery platform.”

CybrSchool allows homeschool students to access the Acellus Learning System through arrangements with local schools. The advantage to students and parents is that learning can be accelerated, including outside the classroom while costs for the program are covered by the local school district. The advantage for schools is that they can facilitate the additional learning approach for interested students while maintaining the students’ enrollments.

“Acellus is focused on improving the success of every student, regardless of whether they are in public, private, or homeschool environments,” stated Dr. Roger Billings, founder and chairman of Acellus. “We have also made it a priority to develop our learning acceleration program around a system that works for every public school, as well as the teachers and administrators who are committed to student success.”

Acellus uses professionally filmed video lessons taught by top-performing teachers to ignite student curiosity, and smart technology that ensures success to keep students engaged. It offers numerous flexible and self-paced courses in math, science, language arts, and social studies. It also provides an innovative Science, Technology, Electronics and Math (STEM) program to prepare students for STEM careers, and a writing tutor program, among other offerings.

The Park County School District No. 1 includes Powell High School, the Shoshone Learning Center, Powell Middle School, Clark Elementary School, Parkside Elementary School, Southside Elementary School, and Westside Elementary School.
