 Atlanta, GA — March 15, 2023. Equinox Open Library Initiative, a trusted leader in open source technology development and support for libraries, is pleased to announce that Lena Hernandez has joined Equinox as Product and Education Specialist.

Lena Hernandez brings more than a decade of experience working in libraries, archives, museums, and galleries, including as Coordinator of Acquisitions at the University of North Florida and Collections Manager and Registrar at the Museum of Science & History in Jacksonville, Florida. She has her Master’s in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University, where she also earned an Advanced Certificate in Strategic Management of Digital Assets. Lena’s Bachelors of Arts is from Eckerd College, where she majored in Religious Studies and minored in Visual Arts and Classical Humanities. Her personal and professional work in public service has situated her well to support communities and libraries moving to a more equitable future with open source technology.
